Like other membership associations, we have a clear vision of where .orgCommunity is headed and a strategy to get us there. We also recognize the importance of tweaking that strategy based on a variety of factors such as changes in the environment, the evolution of the association profession, the emergence of new technologies and innovations in other fields. Direct feedback from our members is another critical component in assessing our efforts to provide value.
Recently we asked our members to provide input regarding the benefits of membership as well as their relative interest in a variety of educational topics and formats. We want to thank all of those who participated in the survey!
We were gratified by the strong endorsement of the .orgCommunity approach. As a measure of overall satisfaction, we asked the likelihood of recommending membership in .orgCommunity to a colleague. Using Net Promoter Score (NPS) originated by Bain and Company, .orgCommunity achieved a very positive score of 47.4.
Education formats that successfully combine both robust content and meaningful interactions with colleagues were considered most valuable. Just as members look for balance between content and networking, there also is a desire for a balance between providing insights into long range strategic issues versus current solutions. For example, members expressed the greatest interest in programs dealing with creating and sustaining a culture of strategic thinking and innovation. However, they also were interested are also interested in addressing a range of immediate issues such as practical aspects of revenue diversification.
We even learned some very specific tactical things of our own. Our roundtable “hot topic” sessions were not being held at the optimal time and place for many members. Therefore, you are going to see more variability in scheduling. At the end of the month will be holding our first morning roundtable in a suburban location. Before heading to the office, join us on May 31, from 8:30-10:00 am at AAOS, 9400 W. Higgins Road, Suite 100, Rosemont, IL. Our featured topic will be: “The Journey to the C-Suite: Friends, Foes and the Unlikely Alliances to Get You There.”
Again, we want to thank all of you who participated in the survey. We look forward to continuing to serve your needs as association professionals. Please feel free to reach out to us directly to let us know how we can support you.
